Not everyone wants to sit. Plenty of people want to watch.
Plan around the number of people likely to get drawn, the available drawing hours and what else is happening at the event.
- Choose the entertainment window, allowing for speeches or breaks.
- Estimate likely participation, rather than assuming every guest will sit.
- Allow roughly 15–20 faces per artist per hour, then discuss the details with us.
Group portraits count as multiple faces. Pace varies with artist, style and conditions. We never guarantee a fixed guest capacity.

If around half the guests want a drawing, two artists could be a useful starting point.
2 artists × 3 hours × $175 = $1,050 base artist fee.
That provides roughly 90–120 faces of planning capacity, giving some breathing room around an estimated 75 participants. More group drawings, color or interruptions may change the recommendation.
If nearly everyone wants a portrait, we should discuss more artists or more time.

How much does a caricature artist cost?
Our base rate is $175 per hour, per artist. Two hours with one artist starts at $350; three hours starts at $525. Travel, custom paper and other agreed extras are confirmed in your quote.
How many people can you draw?
Traditional caricatures typically run about 15–20 faces per artist per hour. Pace varies by artist, style, couples or groups and event conditions. This is a planning estimate, not a guarantee.
What kind of caricatures do you offer?
Our signature event service is black-and-white live caricatures. Ask about custom printed sheets or event branding when you check your date.
Can you book artists outside St. Louis?
Yes. We know caricature artists across the country and can look for a local fit near your event. If an artist needs to travel, necessary mileage, airfare, lodging or other travel costs are quoted separately before you book.
What does the artist need at the event?
We coordinate a suitable, well-lit drawing area, seating, access and setup details with you. We handle drawing supplies. Outdoor events need shelter and a weather plan.
Does checking my date book the event?
No. It starts an inquiry. Availability, the recommended setup and a written quote must be confirmed before booking. This website does not take payment or reserve an artist.
